Keep Kold reduces energy costs both at the refrigeration system level and at the facility level, while improving resiliency by intelligently focusing on when to use energy and commanding this usage in coordination with the facility and its utility’s tariffs. Up to a 35% reduction in refrigeration energy costs is achievable based on the utility tariff and the installed cold storage ability.

Energy Storage Monetization
Keep Kold is installed as either a direct replacement or as an overlay to a refrigeration’s temperature, evaporator fan motor, lighting and defrost controller.
Through Keep Kold’s integration with SEAP platform ASO/EMIS Energy Management Information System, commanded temperature modulation enables the refrigerated spaces to be utilized as energy storage. This Energy stored in refrigeration supports facility resiliency, energy efficiency, peak load management, and participation in utility demand response programs.

Intelligent Performance and Fault Diagnostics
Monitoring of temperature, current, and refrigerant pressure is performed at location points associated with the refrigeration system to determine the performance and health of maintaining temperature. Refrigeration system anomalies are detected, notifying operational staff if things are not working as expected by the Keep Kold’s Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) and Performance KPIs system.
The FDD and performance alert system works in coordination with all SEAP solutions to notify the right people on their terms based on the severity of the issue, minimizing alarm fatigue through intelligent hierarchical alarming of operational, supervisory, security, performance, and customized alarm conditions. An alarm is communicated with the equipment location, possible fault or degraded conditions that caused the alarm, and a list of possible solutions and actions to take based on the specific detected issue.
