SEAP Keep Kold

‘Keep Kold’ for commercial refrigeration systems improves refrigeration reliability and reduces the cost of refrigeration system operations through energy and maintenance cost reductions.

Keep Kold enhances food safety by intelligently monitoring and diagnosing refrigeration systems to prevent food spoilage from excessive temperatures. It leverages ONIT's SEAP cloud platform for real-time data access and control across any secure internet-connected device.


Actively Reduce Energy Costs

Keep Kold reduces energy costs both at the refrigeration system level and at the facility level, while improving resiliency by intelligently focusing on when to use energy and commanding this usage in coordination with the facility and its utility’s tariffs. Up to a 35% reduction in refrigeration energy costs is achievable depending on the utility tariff and the installed cold storage ability.

Energy Storage Monetization

Keep Kold is installed as either a direct replacement or as an overlay to a refrigeration’s temperature controller, evaporator fan motor controller, and defrost controller. Through Keep Kold’s integration with SEAP platform ASO/EMIS modules, commanded temperature modulation enables the refrigerated spaces to be utilized as energy storage to support facility resiliency, energy efficiency, peak load management, and participation in utility demand response programs. Locally installed ONIT micro-processors & intelligent relays coordinate with the ONIT's SEAP cloud servers to improve the un-interrupted safe and reliable operation of refrigeration systems.

Intelligent Sensing

Monitoring of temperature and refrigerant pressure is performed at location points associated with the refrigeration system to determine the state and health of maintaining temperature. Refrigeration system anomalies are detected, notifying operational staff if things are not working as expected by the Keep Kold’s Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) system.

The FDD alarm system works in coordination with all SEAP solutions to notify the right people on their terms based on the severity of the incident, minimizing alarm fatigue through intelligent hierarchical alarming of operational, supervisory, and customized alarm conditions. A fault alarm is presented with the equipment location, possible fault conditions that caused the alarm, and a list of possible solutions and actions to take based on the specific detected fault.
